The project, built on the newly launched Somnia LAYER 1 blockchain, will debut in October ahead of the NBA season.

The platform tokenizes NBA players, allowing their values to fluctuate in real-time based on performance and fan sentiment. Fans can assemble rosters, speculate on rising talent, and earn rewards tied to their predictions. "We're creating something for the fans that lives beyond the game," Thompson said, emphasizing the immersive, gamified experience.

Somnia, the underlying blockchain, has already processed billions in trading volume since its launch earlier this month. The initiative reflects growing convergence between sports, gaming, and decentralized technology.
